Best thing to use is the JungleFlasher and use the guide built into the program.

You can brick your xbox BUT if you take care when getting your drive key, and are sure that the key is yours (It should run 6 tests to check). If it is then you can mess up 100s of times until you get it right.

You can get banned from xbox live if the game is not stealth patched etc.
